Just got the hair did!

I finally got rid of those orange looking roots yesterday! I just wish I had my hairdresser to fix my hair everyday; you never can get it to look as good as they do!

Now I just have to get everything running smoothly for Catholic Schools Week this week! AHHH!!! lol

Determination...

Today gave me more of a dedication (not that I didn't have it before) to find a teaching job at my level. After talking to a couple people in the school about some things going on next week, I feel even more pissed off. I have all the respect in the world for elementary teachers, because it takes a special type of patience and understanding; I unfortunately don't have those elementary teacher qualities (damn!). I think people forget I'm actually a licensed English teacher and not an elementary teacher. They think I can't handle upper grade activities. I taught seniors in high school for crying out loud!! I know they probably don't mean to be condescending, but it's kind of like a stab in the chest for me (especially when there's a teacher not certified to teach English whose teaching English in the building). It seems to just get harder & harder to work where I am, because I feel like a joke. I'm hoping something pulls through for next school year, because I've done everything possible to make my resume shine with experience.

My Brother

So we just found out this week that my brother is leaving Monday for boot camp. He wasn't supposed to leave until February 22, so this is a big surprise. My poor mom is frantically putting together a going away party for him this Saturday so everyone can say their goodbyes. My mom seems to be doing ok with it all though. She says she's fine since it's just boot camp, but it may be a different story when he actually leaves for good.....

Where do I go from this?

So I had a conversation that I never would've thought I would have. Somewhere along the past 2 months, my relationship w/my bf has apparently become "boring." I could feel something was different about a month ago, but I was so busy with work & trying to adjust. I've tried to act really silly & have some fun around him the past 2 wks, because I knew something was off. He wasn't into it & ignored me. I was kind of shocked by it but sometimes I can't tell with him. So we have the conversation tonight as we're going home from a game. It took me to be in tears & asking what is going on & trying to guess for him to finally bring it all up. I don't know why none of this was addressed sooner; I know we are both to blame. We agreed that we want to make it better & want to work on it. I'm just trying to figure out what to do, because I've been trying for awhile. I mean if things aren't meant to be then they aren't meant to be, but I feel like I really want to be in this for the long haul. Neither of us are boring people at all, so I'm just trying to figure out how it became this way. If anyone has any advice, PLEASE send it my way....

Shanna's Bachelorette Party

My cousin's bachelorette party was this past Saturday. Her fiance is a golf pro at Cambridge, so we decided to go with an argyle/golf theme for the evening. It was a good choice, because we had free drinks all night!
